Welcome!
Use this page as the follow-along hub for the OpenAI Academy x NPower career readiness workshop. You’ll find the session slides, practice files, reusable prompts, and additional OpenAI Academy resources to help you continue learning after the event.
This workshop is designed for veterans, transitioning service members, military spouses, and military-connected learners. No prior AI experience is required.
What this session covers
Using ChatGPT to identify and communicate your transferable skills.
Turning your experience into truthful resume bullets and networking messages.
Comparing a job posting with your background to prepare a stronger application.
Practicing interview questions and improving your answers.
Building one repeatable workflow for job search, learning, or workplace preparation.
Quick reminders
Do not enter Social Security numbers, bank details, medical information, security-clearance details, private service records, or sensitive family information.
Never use ChatGPT to invent experience, credentials, duties, or results.
Use public job postings and redacted documents whenever possible.
Verify employer information, job requirements, compensation, and other important facts.
Keep a human in the loop. You are responsible for the final application, message, and decision.
ChatGPT can help you prepare, organize, practice, and draft. It cannot guarantee an interview or employment outcome.
Prompting checklist
Task: What do you want ChatGPT to help you accomplish?
Context: What should it know about your experience, goals, audience, and constraints?
Output: What should the response look like: bullets, a checklist, a script, or a plan?
Check: What facts must be verified, and what must ChatGPT avoid assuming or inventing?
Career Readiness Practice Pack
The practice pack includes a safe sample career profile, a mock job posting, resume-bullet exercises, interview-preparation notes, a career-skills inventory, and a Solution Studio worksheet.
You can practice with these sample files before using your own materials.
Help me build a career positioning kit. Ask me one question at a time about my experience, strengths, target roles, and constraints. Then create a capability map, three possible role directions, five truthful resume bullets, a short networking message, and a seven-day action plan. Do not invent experience, credentials, metrics, or duties. Flag anything I need to verify.
Turn a job posting into an interview plan
I will share a public job posting and a resume or career profile. Compare them and identify the strongest match themes, evidence I should highlight, gaps I should address, five likely interview questions, three STAR story outlines, and a seven-day preparation checklist. Separate facts from assumptions and do not invent qualifications.
Build a reusable career workflow
Help me turn [career task] into a repeatable workflow. First ask the questions you need to understand my goal. Then create a step-by-step process, list the inputs I should provide, add privacy and accuracy guardrails, define the output format, and include a final test checklist. Use only the information I provide and clearly flag uncertainty.
ChatGPT for Resumes and Interviews — A replay covering resume refinement, organizing your experience, interview preparation, and confidence during a job search.
Choose one target role, run one workflow using a public job posting, improve one resume section, practice three interview questions, review the results with a trusted person, and save the prompt that worked best so you can reuse it.
