A reporter needs an answer, an official announcement is approaching, and the Member needs a clear briefing. This prompt pack gives U.S. House offices structured starting points for turning approved source material into useful communications drafts.
Download the PDF below for 30 prompts across six communications workflows.

Who this is for

Designed for Communications Directors in U.S. House Member offices, the pack also supports press secretaries, digital staff, Chiefs of Staff, and legislative or district staff who contribute to official communications.

Why it is useful

Each prompt defines the task, inputs, output, and checks. That structure helps staff prepare a first draft, identify missing facts, and coordinate review. Prompts preserve approved quotations, distinguish legislative stages, and flag assumptions rather than filling gaps with invented details.

What is inside

• Communications planning: editorial plans, announcement intake, legislative-to-press handoffs, production schedules, and DC–district coordination. • Press inquiries and coverage: reporter response briefs, press responses, clips digests, interview logistics, and factual correction requests. • Official announcements: press releases, media advisories, bill-status explainers, funding fact checks, and public service notices. • Member preparation: interview sheets, remarks, public Q&A, accurate transcript excerpts, and post-interview follow-through. • Digital and constituent content: channel adaptations, newsletters, web revisions, video briefs, and accessible content reviews. • Corrections and office continuity: holding statements, corrections across channels, closure updates, publication readiness, and after-action reviews.

How to use the pack

• Choose one task and copy the prompt into ChatGPT Enterprise. • Replace bracketed placeholders with the topic, channel, audience, deadline, and other requested details. • Paste approved source text or attach the named files where enabled. Include dates and versions. These basic chat prompts do not retrieve live records or publish content; a link alone is not source content. • Review the draft against the originals. Confirm quotations, names, titles, legislative status, dates, figures, and links. • Refine the wording and route the result through your office’s required review and approval process.

A useful first exercise

Try Media advisory with an approved public event brief. Compare the draft with the source, checking the date, time zone, location, attendance, and public contact. Then try Official channel adaptations with an approved announcement and check that facts and caveats remain consistent across versions.

Keep review and publication with people

Use only information approved for your office’s ChatGPT Enterprise workspace. Keep official and campaign work separate. Treat outputs as drafts, confirm current House requirements with the appropriate reviewer, and retain human decisions about approval and publication. Do not use a generated review as certification of compliance.
