Use this guide to remember the core ideas from the webinar, recreate the two demos, and try ChatGPT with your own work.

This webinar is designed for people using ChatGPT Enterprise. Your screen and available features may vary based on your plan and workspace settings. Your organization may also control which Plugins, apps, and personalization features are available.

Practice in a ChatGPT workspace approved by your organization. Before adding company information, make sure you are in the correct workspace and follow your organization’s policies for confidential, personal, and proprietary information.

AI and ChatGPT in plain language

AI is a broad term for software that can spot patterns, learn from data, and produce useful results.

A model is a system trained to perform a particular kind of task. The models behind ChatGPT are designed to work with language.

ChatGPT is the product that lets you work with those models. You can ask questions, upload files, analyze information, and give it work to complete.

AI can help you start difficult work, complete time-consuming tasks faster, and take on more than you could alone. It can also be wrong. Your judgment and review are still part of the job.

Three checkpoints

Use these checks whenever you work with AI:

Action	Has the right person reviewed it before it is shared or used?

ChatGPT Enterprise provides business data protections. Your organization owns and controls its data, and OpenAI does not use Enterprise inputs or outputs to train its models by default. Your organization’s policies still determine what information you may use.

Choose Chat or Work based on the job

Use	When you need
Chat	A quick answer, help with one part of a task, or a conversation that helps you think something through
Work	ChatGPT to gather context, complete several steps, and create a substantial result you can review

Chat is not the beginner version of Work. They are different ways to use ChatGPT.

If the finished result belongs in Work, begin in Work. You do not need to draft the idea in Chat first. Give Work the goal, relevant sources, constraints, and a clear description of the result you need.

Prompting basics

You do not need a perfect prompt before you begin. A useful starting prompt usually tells ChatGPT:

What you need help with

What context could change the answer

What a useful response would look like

Start with what you know. Look at the response, then ask a follow-up question, add context, attach a file, or push back when something feels generic. You do not get a gold medal for getting the perfect result from a single prompt.

Demo 1: Analyze support tickets in Chat

What to remember

This demo begins with a broad question, adds a file, and uses short follow-up prompts to move from a vague concern to analysis, a chart, and a recommendation.

Recreate it

Start a new Chat conversation and ask:

My support team has been feeling really overloaded lately. Can you help me figure out what might be going on?

Attach the support-ticket spreadsheet and continue in the same conversation:

Here are our tickets from last month. What stands out to you?

Ask ChatGPT to make the patterns easier to see:

Can you show me the top issues in a simple chart?

Add more context before choosing a priority:

Okay, but frequency isn’t the whole story. If you also look at resolution time and customer tier, what do you think we should prioritize?

Turn the recommendation into next steps:

Give me three things we could try next month.

The prompts are short on purpose. Look at what ChatGPT gives you and decide what you want to know next.

Personalize how ChatGPT responds

Open Settings → Personalization to choose a personality and add custom instructions. A personality changes the style and tone of the response. It does not change ChatGPT’s capabilities or safety rules.

In the webinar, we chose Candid and added this custom instruction:

When I’m weighing options, don’t just agree with me. Point out weak assumptions and tell me what evidence I’m missing. Keep your answers concise.

Then we returned to the support-ticket conversation and asked:

What do you think my boss might push back on?

Personalization gives ChatGPT useful defaults. You should still provide the context that matters for the task in front of you.

Demo 2: Build a quarterly performance presentation in Work

What to remember

This demo begins in Work because the finished result is a complete, editable presentation. A Project keeps the related files and conversations together. Plugins let ChatGPT reach information in the tools your organization already uses.

If you use your own materials, make sure they are approved for use in your ChatGPT workspace. If your organization uses SharePoint or another file-storage system instead of Google Drive, connect the equivalent Plugin approved by your organization.

Recreate it

Connect the Plugin that holds your files, such as Google Drive or SharePoint.

Create a Project called Q2 Performance.

Add the quarterly goals, performance workbook, presentation template, and brand guide to the Project.

Start a Chat conversation inside the Project and ask one focused question:

What was our Q2 revenue target, and did we hit it?

Start a separate conversation in the same Project, choose Work, and paste:

Create a Q2 performance lookback presentation for Cavenridge leadership using the files in this Project. Compare our goals with the actual results, highlight the biggest wins and misses, and recommend next steps.

Build an editable Google Slides deck using our presentation template and brand guide. Put the main takeaway near the beginning, use charts where they help, and cite the source for important claims. Don’t guess at causes the files don’t explain, and don’t share the presentation.

Review the result. Check the story, the important numbers, the recommendations, and whether the presentation followed the supplied template and brand guide.

Ask Work to show the evidence behind an important claim:

Where did the on-time delivery result come from? Show me the exact source. If you calculated this, show me the calculation and link me to the source.

Open the source and verify it yourself. In the demo, the target was 92 percent and the actual result was 88.4 percent, a difference of 3.6 percentage points.

Correct the wording and ask Work to preserve the underlying values:

Revise the slide about on-time delivery to say that it finished 3.6 percentage points below target. Add a source footnote for the target and actual result. Do not change the underlying values.

Work creates the draft. You still decide whether the facts, reasoning, recommendations, and final format are ready to use.

Help ChatGPT remember how you work

Personality and custom instructions change how ChatGPT responds right away. Memory can make it more useful over time by remembering preferences you choose to share.

You can tell ChatGPT directly when you want it to remember something:

Remember this: I hate when people use “level up,” and I would never, ever say that in a conversation.

You can review what ChatGPT remembers, ask it to forget something, or turn Memory off. Your organization may control whether Memory is available. Only add information that your organization allows you to use.

Two useful prompts to try

Try this in Chat

Bring in a real file you need to understand and ask:

Tell me the three most important things I should know from this file. What looks surprising, unclear, or worth checking? What should I do next, and why?

Look at the answer, then continue the conversation with whatever question comes to mind next.

Try this in Work

If you are not sure what your first Work task should be, ask:

Based on my recent work, suggest three tasks I could hand off to ChatGPT Work. Tell me what you would create for each one, what information you would use, and where I should start. Don’t begin until I choose.

Choose one real task already on your plate. Review the result and check at least one important claim, calculation, source, or assumption before you use it.
