It is coming time for that annual rite of passage where the Member of Congress you work for asks, “How is my schedule looking for the August recess?” And you start to scurry around asking every staffer for ideas of meetings and visits for the Member while he or she is in district or in the state for August during the longest and hottest days of summer. Upload your last few August schedules from 2025, 2024 and 2023 in ChatGPT and ask for some fresh, new ideas for your boss. A sample prompt could be:

Another prompt is asking ChatGPT to build a schedule or an agenda or a district/in-state tour based on a theme. For example, maybe your Member of Congress wishes to build a schedule of events with constituents around housing and education affordability. Prompt ChatGPT to build a schedule of events, and ask it to create banners for the event, talking points and more. Get your team started for a “brainstorming” meeting about the August schedule with some ideas from ChatGPT. A sample prompt may be:
“I work for a politician in [insert state] who wishes to host six events around the state focusing on affordable housing and education opportunities. Draft an event plan of the six events and locations, and include a theme for a banner at each event and suggested local speakers.”
Or maybe you want to focus on federal funding impacts in the state or district, why not try the following prompt:
"I work for a politician in [insert state] who wishes to host six events at military installations in the state or federal government labs or other federal offices and focus on the impact of the federal government on the state of [insert state]. Draft an event plan of six events, locations and include suggested local speakers."
