With help from ChatGPT and Codex, he built LatterDaySearch, a website that searches sources he selected. Readers can ask questions in everyday language and find relevant articles—even when the authors use different words. The results link to original sources and highlight useful passages, helping Hamblin rediscover discussions and share them with others.

Meditation can leave people unsure whether they are making progress or what to try next. Stephen Zerfas, co-founder and CEO of Jhourney, is developing an AI tutor grounded in the company’s meditation curriculum and exploring coaching that responds as people describe their practice aloud. His goal is to extend the personalized guidance offered on retreats to people who cannot spend a week with an expert teacher.

After losing her home and business in Beirut’s 2020 port blast, designer Sana Asseh moved with her family to a California forest. At Fancy Camp, the campsite she and her husband created, she used ChatGPT Work to develop merchandise inspired by their goats and chickens and build the camp’s website herself. She has since built websites for two clients and her local community association.

Keith uses ChatGPT to find Church documents, clarify difficult theological terms, and explore how Catholic tradition might inform modern questions. A convert who reads theology for pleasure, he pursues questions ranging from what Aquinas meant by “essence” and “form” to how Catholic teachings might apply to AI.

Journalist and technologist Jaemark Tordecilla used Codex to build Working Draft, a tool for covering the impeachment trial of Philippine Vice President Sara Duterte. It identifies speakers, links transcripts to corresponding moments in Senate video, and summarizes entire sessions so reporters can catch up and check testimony against the original footage.

Rabbi Andrew Bloom uses a customized ChatGPT guide to find Jewish commentaries, then checks the original texts before deepening his research. His exploration of faith and technology also inspired The Ten Commandments of Ethical AI: From Mount Sinai to Silicon Valley, a book proposing standards for AI grounded in human dignity and accountability.
