Feature controls and integrations with your tools
Learn how to configure workspace features, control integrations and custom GPT sharing, and monitor usage through dashboards and compliance tools.
Workspace settings
See the overview below of the different toggles that Workspace Owners will see on the Settings page for Enterprise workspaces. Note that the Team workspace is more limited a to which workspace-wide settings you can control as an Owner. - Canvas: Canvas is an interface within ChatGPT for writing and coding projects that require editing and revisions. Enterprise workspace admins can control whether canvas code execution is available for users in the workspace along with the default network access behaviors. See: Executing Python Code within Canvas.
- Web search: Web search allows ChatGPT and GPTs to answer questions on recent topics. When enabled, it may send search queries and general location information to Bing, but this data is not linked or associated with user accounts. See: ChatGPT Search for Enterprise and Edu.
- Voice: Manage whether members can share their screen or video while having a voice conversation (advanced voice on iOS and Android mobile apps only). See: Sharing in voice mode.
- Record: Manage whether members can use ChatGPT Record, a feature that turns meetings, brainstorms, or voice notes into organized knowledge it can act on. See: ChatGPT Record
- Codex: Enterprise owners can manage whether members can use Codex, OpenAI’s cloud-based software engineering agent. See: Codex in ChatGPT
- Work with apps: ChatGPT for macOS can now work with your apps, starting with coding tools like IDEs, terminals, and Apple Notes. See: Work with Apps on MacOS.
GPT settings
Both Team and Enterprise allow creation of custom GPTs (bespoke instances of ChatGPT with custom instructions or knowledge). See GPTs FAQ - note that governance controls vary between Team and Enterprise workspaces. GPT settings can be found under the GPTs tab in your Admin panel. - In Enterprise settings, admins can set the maximum sharing scope for GPTs created by workspace users – e.g. restrict sharing to “workspace only” or “private invite only,” disabling public sharing. Team users are able to share GPTs without admin approval.
- OpenAI allows third-party connections that connect ChatGPT to external services via Custom GPT actions. In an Enterprise setting, you can disable or limit usage for your workspace for security or other reasons.
- Enterprise and Team workspaces allow limiting use of third-party (public or external) GPTs.
Connectors: Both Team and Enterprise workspaces have the ability to connect to your third-party applications or your internal systems to enrich responses from ChatGPT, and admins and owners are able to manage connectors in the Connectors tab in the Admin panel. See: Connectors in ChatGPT Other considerations
Set up a plan for ongoing monitoring.
- Audit Logs via Compliance API: Enterprise workspaces can access the Compliance API that gives an audit log of conversations and custom GPT activity. For example, you might have compliance or security engineers run scripts to fetch conversations metadata or flags.
