AI Foundations Assessment

Build practical skills for working with AI

Awarded for completing the AI Foundations learning path, including its course and assessment.

Learn the fundamentals of AI, large language models, and ChatGPT through hands-on practice. You'll choose a real task you perform regularly and build core habits for giving clear instructions, providing context, reviewing outputs, and using AI responsibly.

The course takes approximately 70 minutes to complete, but you don’t need to finish it all at once. Your progress is automatically saved. Leave anytime and pick up exactly where you left off.

Duration: ~70 minutes
Format: Self-paced
Level: Introduction

Developed with the teams building OpenAI's models and products, this course combines product guidance, research, safety expertise, and workplace practice.

This course is designed for people who are new to AI or want a stronger foundation for using AI effectively at work. No technical background is required.

A practical understanding of how AI works

Stronger habits for prompting, context, and review

An improved version of a real task you perform regularly

Complete the course, pass the assessment, and earn your badge

Build your knowledge and skills by working through the course lessons and activities, then put what you’ve learned into practice with the course assessment.

To earn your OpenAI Academy course badge, you must complete this learning pathway. The pathway includes two required steps: completing the course and passing the assessment with a score of at least 80%.

Once you’ve met both requirements, Accredible will email you a link to view your digital badge. It will go to the email address you used to sign up for OpenAI Academy—or the email associated with your ChatGPT account if you registered for Academy with Sign-In with Chat.

You can share your badge on LinkedIn, other social platforms, or with colleagues and team members internally.
