With the 2026 midterms right around the corner, OpenAI Academy is hosting ChatGPT 201 For Midterms, a small, practical workshop in Washington, DC for journalists covering the 2026 elections.
The session is built around a simple goal: helping journalists leave with a clearer, more usable sense of how ChatGPT can support reporting and research work they already do.
The workshop will focus on source-first workflows, political coverage use cases, best prompting practices, and ways to turn dense material into structured briefs, follow-up questions, and reusable newsroom solutions.
It will also include conversations with newsroom leaders and journalists about how they are putting AI to use right now, followed by a lightweight review of Codex, Agents, Skills, and built apps, with no technical background required.
